Uploading Files to FTP Site
What is FTP?
FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is the simplest and most secure way to exchange files over the Internet. When downloading a file from the Internet, you are actually transferring the file to your computer from another computer over the Web. This is why the letter “T” (transfer) is in FTP.
What FTP program does THP recommend?
- For Windows users, we recommend Filezilla.
- For Mac users, we recommend CyberDuck.
Should I compress my files before uploading?
Definitely compress files before attempting to transfer them via FTP. Compression protects your files from corruption through the process of transfer as well as makes the transfer process quicker.
